For some reason the brightness of the moon just makes me want to cry right now.
I want to exchange our favourite songs, and spend hours in coffee shops, and write poetry about you, and name stars after you, and smoke cigarettes with you, and watch you sleep, and hold your hand, and kiss you on the cheek, I want to recommend you books, and wear you clothes to bed, and write you love letters, and I want to watch black and white movies with you, and catch trains to places I’ve never been with you, and take hundreds of pictures of you, and tell you my secrets, and slow dance, and sit in silence, and I want to make you laugh and smile, and go on picnics with you, and I want to listen to you tell me about every single thing that happened during your day

Weekend summary:
No. 174 | Stillspotting | NYC
The two silhouettes you see holding hands are looking directly at the Empire State Building. Classical music is playing in the background and the weather balloons are surrounding them rhythmically to compliment the musical notes. This is an old shot and it has always reminded me of the closing scene in Fight Club (nothing blew up after I took it though).
I shot this scene during an installation last year sponsored by MoMA at 7 WTC. Plenty of other shots from this day are in my archive, as MoMA was super cool about letting people take photos.
- Lungs can be punctured by stingrays.
- Socks are an efficient and disturbing abomination.
- Jellyfish exist in hordes.
- And so do stars.
- And sand.
- And birds.
- And insects.
- And people.
- And breaths. Beautiful, beautiful breaths.
- Breathing should be treated as an art form. Each inhalation, a signature from the respiratory system itself.
- When having sex, do not think. Feel. Express. Moan. Fuck voraciously, make love tenderly.
- Trees have their entire lives mapped out within their torsoes just as we have ours mapped along our palms.
- When praying, do not be greedy. Whisper each word like it is your very first whisper, for it is.
- Ramen is and always will be cheap.
- Mornings look better on rooftops or at the edge of something very tall.
- Evenings look better beneath the silhouette of a forest, a crowd of stars shining for your gaze.
- “I love you” is a very simple and complex phrase. Be careful with it.
- Hearts are made out of everything.
- But they are not indestructible.
- Hands and bodies are to be held, gently and with need.
- Scars are to be traced repeatedly.
- Everything we do is insignificant for we are merely particles of the universe, specks of dust traveling through the dark.
- Everything we do is significant for we are the universe to the atoms in our skin, giants who know how to block out the sun with the width of our very hands.
